thought i'd share a picture of one corner of the room we have set up for our future child/ren. since they will be from foster care, we don't know age, gender or ever quantity...but we did specify that since we are young still ourselves it may be best to keep the quantity under 3 and the ages under 5 for right now.
there is a little chair across the room where i used to sit every morning. now i sit there and blog:)

This room is going to make some little kids feel very welcome. Thanks for following my blog, Emily (or Lily for all I know--not sure who wears the pants). My heart just clenched a little knowing you will soon welcome foster children into your life. I'm making an assumption here, but I think people like you help repair our world.
Hey we are about to paint one wall of our living room that color! It looks really nice in your picture.
Kudos for fostering. We have never fostered, but we have two adopted children and are BIG adoption advocates. There are so many kids who need good homes. I think everyone should adopt!!
Good luck getting things going. It can be very stressful, but it's so worth it!
wendy-finally i meet another adoptive mom here! thank you for your comments! we are actually adopting, but our kids will come from the foster care system. legally they will be fostered for hte first 6 months they are with us until the adoption is finalized...but they will be free for adoption and once they come into our home they will stay. keep in touch, i'm excited to hear about your experiences! and good luck with that green wall!
ann- truth be told, lily is usually the pants wearer around these parts! thanks for following and commenting. your encouragement makes me glad!
The green walls and wooden floor look so warm and inviting!
thanks bee! we tried to do a neutral theme...just something that could be fun for any child
Love the wall color!
That is so sweet! I love the color -you'll make some lonely child very happy :-)
Hi Emily. Thanks for visiting my blog. I am so interested in what you are doing after reading this post. I look forward to exploring your blog and coming back again and again. How wonderful that you intend to be foster parents. Such a charming room. (I'm a big fan of color!) Best wishes to you and the kids...
OHh.. that's so sweet :) I'd love to be a kid in that area.
